Studies have shown that if a student listens to someone else read to them they will grow significantly in their fluency. My students will be able to listen to authors (published and classmates) as well as themselves read books that they love. This will help with their fluency and word recognition in becoming a successful reader. They will be exposed to all types of literature in order to broaden their horizons. This listening center will help them listen to classics to Fairy Tales to today's newest reads. They will also be able to record and listen to themselves! How cool is that? Being able to listen to your very own voice reading something you love reading!!! So cool!

About my class
