I am currently teaching the inventor of the cure for cancer and the common cold. I'm also teaching the next President and Nobel Prize winner. In essence, I am a first grade teacher in the inner-city. However, I hold my children to very high standards. I teach the English component of our Dual Language program. Many of our students are immigrants or first-generation Americans. I have 21 students of a wide variety of ethnicities. These students live in a high-need community. All of our parents work full-times jobs and all of our students are eligible for free lunch. In our Dual Language environment we celebrate our different ethnicities, languages, and traditions while we learn acceptance and appreciation for others.
