Our population consists of a very diverse culture and language background. We have over 115 students from 18 different countries, speaking 16 different languages. The majority of these students are on free and reduced lunch and tend to live in areas of town that are dangerous and have high crime. Our students do not have the luxury of using technology at home. School is a place where they come to feel safe and to learn. The access to technology will reinforce oral language as well as math, science, and social studies skills they need in order to be successful in the classroom and real world. This is a generation of technology. Technology has been proven to be a successful learning tool. The ESL department is in desperate need of having enough technology to use as a teaching tool with our students throughout the day.
