This novel Cosmic is about a young boy that looks like an adult. He is different from the other kids at school, but he has the same feelings and emotions that they have. He ends up being in charge of five children on a trip to space, and he has to be the chaperone. This story touches on the theme of becoming an adult, and the responsibilities that go with the freedoms. It incorporates the idea that although we are all different, we share many of the same feelings and fears. This book is funny, and heartfelt. I think my students will enjoy this book for years to come!
