In general, the use of iPads in the classroom is a single student activity. However, with this project, students will be able to work in teams and collaborate with each other. In addition, the access to robots and coding in the classroom gives my students a real world look at science, math and technology (STEM). This project will give my students advantage in preparing for college and career readiness. This project will also help provide an opportunity to expose my students to computer science. This is an area where many companies in Utah struggle to find employees with this skill set. The activities the students will have access to are engaging and fun and will allow me to reach all of my students! Since I have visual, kinesthetic, and auditory learners, having access to robots and technology will give all of my students opportunities to be successful. I use technology in my classroom daily. I also run an after school program called Tech Troupe. It gives students extra access to computer science. I intend to use the items from this project to support our Tech Troupe as well.
