I teach a wonderful group of first and second graders in a special education classroom. My students bring humor, curiosity, and personality to our room every day. They love stories, music, movement, and hands-on activities. Their strengths and needs vary, so I use visuals, practice, and encouragement to help each child participate and succeed. I’m fortunate to work alongside two dedicated paraprofessionals who help students practice skills, navigate routines, and celebrate their progress. Together, we notice and celebrate moments that might look small from the outside: a student asking for help, sounding out a word, joining a group activity, or completing a routine more independently. I’m proud of how hard my students work and how they cheer one another on. Our goal is to give every child the tools and confidence to keep growing.
