My first graders are a bright and beautiful mix of personalities, talents, and dreams. In our little classroom in Hackensack, every child brings something special — a spark of curiosity, a big heart, or a joyful laugh that fills the room. We are a Title I school, where many families face financial challenges, yet my students show up each day eager to learn, to grow, and to be loved. Some of my students need extra academic support, while others shine with creativity and confidence, ready to help their classmates. What unites them all is their resilience and kindness. Together, we are building not just readers and writers, but a community that believes in the power of stories, in one another, and in the magic that happens when children feel seen, supported, and inspired.
