Our public school is located in an economically disadvantaged district. My students are English-Language learners who bring their rich cultural backgrounds to create a truly diverse community. My students are from an underprivileged population where 80% of students qualify for free lunch. During my biology course, students will build their critical thinking, analysis, and problem solving skills. My students will have the opportunity to think like a scientist and conduct their very own hands-on experiments. In addition to learning science, my students are also learning English since many of them have recently immigrated to the United States. I hope my science course will open up the doors for my students and hopefully spark their interests in a career in scientific field. Despite the limited amount of resources, I still want to provide the best for my students. We are so grateful for your generosity.
