My students really struggle with social/behavioral skills. Our class si a self-contained social-emotional Behavior class. Most don't have a marketable job skill and this is a gap I would like to work on with them. They all like to build, especially legos and other items. I would like to expand on that characteristic with real life opportunities and skills. Our goal would be to purchase items that require assembly. Some items could be built multiple times, but we are envisioning creating a small business model that would track inventory expenses and gains as well as the ability to follow mulitple step instructions. Students would learn how to properly use tools and marketing techniques as part of the project build. I would like to expand that to basic project management skills. Items such as furniture from IKEA, home improvement projects, as well as product modeling and design.
