We are The Sprout Scouts, the sustainable urban farming club at Newtown High School, NY. As a Title I school with a beautifully diverse student body, our hallways are a melting pot of cultures, but our neighborhood doesn't always have a lot of green space. In a city of high-rises and compact apartments, we believe fresh food shouldn't be a luxury. Our mission is simple: "You can grow green without a big garden!" Right now, our classroom is a laboratory of innovation. We aren’t just planting seeds; we are learning how to bypass the limitations of city living by mastering indoor growing techniques and low-light solutions. Your support helps us provide the LED grow lights, hydroponic kits, and nutrient-rich soil that turn a dark corner into a thriving pantry.
