I work at a small charter school on the Wind River Reservation with a close-knit student population. Because of our small school size, staff often wear many hats and have the opportunity to work closely with students in different areas of their lives. In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I support students through online Edgenuity courses and Study Lab, teach DTF and sublimation design, oversee our school PBIS Store, am the Student Council Advisor, and teach Student Publications. I also serve as a varsity cross country and track coach. Through coaching, I help students develop athletic skills while also emphasizing discipline, teamwork, goal-setting, perseverance, and confidence. Whether I am teaching in the classroom, helping a student catch up on schoolwork, working on a creative project, or coaching on the track, my goal is to give our students the support and opportunities they need to be successful. Working in a small reservation school allows me to build meaningful relationships with students and be involved in many different parts of their high school experience.
