The new materials have helped create a safe and welcoming space where students can share their feelings, ideas, and experiences. After the challenges many children faced during the pandemic, having time to create and explore art has been incredibly meaningful for them.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new art supplies, they were very excited and eager to begin creating. So far, my students have completed many art projects learning about Hispanic and Latinx artists such as Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró, and Amelia Peláez. They used these artists' techniques and styles as inspiration to create their own drawings, paintings, and mixed-media projects. Students proudly shared their artwork with the class and talked about what they learned from each artist, which helped build confidence and strengthened our classroom community.\r\n\r\nWe continue to use the materials during art time and integrated lessons, where students illustrate stories, create visual responses to books we read, and collaborate on projects inspired by famous artists. These activities help develop creativity, communication, and social-emotional skills.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using these materials for storytelling and artist-inspired projects where they write and illustrate their own small books about their experiences and dreams. Your support has helped make our classroom a place where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, learning from one another, and growing both academically and emotionally. The technology and materials from this project helped bring our lessons about earning, saving, sharing, and spending money to life. Using the portable photo printer, students were able to take pictures of real-life examples and turn them into visual tools for their presentations. This made learning about money more engaging and easier for students to understand.\r\n\r\nTechnology played an important role in helping students connect classroom learning to real-world situations. By printing photos and adding them to their chart paper presentations, students could visually show examples of needs versus wants, ways people earn money, and how saving can help achieve goals. This process also helped strengthen other important skills such as collaboration, speaking, and explaining their thinking to their classmates.\r\n\r\nThe photo printer quickly became one of the most exciting tools in our classroom. Students were thrilled to see their pictures printed instantly and used in their projects. Several students who are usually shy about presenting were especially excited to share their work because they had created visuals to support their ideas.\r\n\r\nReading, discussing, and presenting their projects helped students begin to understand the value of money and the importance of making thoughtful financial decisions. Your support helped create a fun and memorable learning experience that introduced my students to financial skills they will use throughout their lives. The books about heroes such as Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, Jim Henson, Amelia Earhart, and Muhammad Ali quickly became favorites in our classroom. These stories helped my students learn that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things through courage, perseverance, and determination.\r\n\r\nDuring our read-aloud time, students practiced important literacy skills such as listening for key details, making predictions, and discussing the character traits that helped each person succeed. We also talked about life lessons from these stories, including standing up for what is right, working hard to achieve goals, and believing in yourself even when things are difficult.\r\n\r\nReading in our classroom often looks like students gathered together to listen, ask questions, and share their thoughts about the people we are learning about. Many students were especially excited to learn how these historical figures faced challenges but continued to follow their dreams. Some students even began sharing their own goals and talking about how they want to make a difference in the future.\r\n\r\nThese books helped bring inspiration and hope to my students while strengthening their reading and discussion skills. These cushions allow students to choose how and where they learn best—whether sitting on the floor, wiggling gently during a lesson, or using them for back support during longer activities. The ability to move and adjust helps students stay engaged and comfortable throughout the day.\r\nThe cushions have also proven to be incredibly versatile. We've used them during outdoor learning or emergency drills when students need a clean, comfortable place to sit on the ground. Indoors, they've replaced traditional carpet seating, giving each student a personal space during group lessons. During Reader's Workshop, the cushions are especially loved—students spread out around the room, find cozy spots, and settle in with their books, creating an inviting and relaxed atmosphere that encourages a love of reading.\r\nOverall, this donation has not only added comfort to our classroom but has also supported flexible, student-centered learning. The cushions have given students more ownership over their learning spaces and have contributed to a positive, calm, and collaborative classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1742823971081,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9006666/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rivas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1315889_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1486839096849","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teresarivas"},{"teacherId":1324262,"projectId":8155704,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for your support to my project.
