My Students

Remember when you were a kid and you had so many questions about the world? You could just pick up a good nonfiction and learn so much. My students do not see many quality nonfiction books in class and their questions go unanswered.

They've got questions and they need answers.

My students are 5th graders who are very inquisitive about the world and the things in it, but have little experience with things outside of their city or even neighborhood. All they need is a little spark and their view of the world will be expanded.

My Project

Having a library full of biographies, books about animals, books on different careers, and books on different cultures will help these students open their worlds to things they do not see everyday. I hope that having these books in the classroom will inspire my students to not be afraid to ask questions. It also gives them better opportunities to learn about historic figures that they would not of heard of otherwise.

With these books, the students will be able to learn so much about different people, places, and cultures.

It may even start some of them on their paths to become life-long learners.
