My students need lots of math manipulatives, such as Peg Number Boards, Counting Boxes, and a Magnetic Numbers Fishing Set! I am looking to make math centers more exciting.
My students love reading but math seems to be our biggest struggle. At such a young age my students can easily get frustrated but I think some new engaging activities just might bring the excitement back to math! My students need lots of math manipulatives, such as Peg Number Boards, Counting Boxes, and a Magnetic Numbers Fishing Set!
My students are in an all-day kindergarten program.
A high percentage are on free and reduced lunch. My classroom is mainly boys with just a small group of girls. They often come to school tired and hungry. School is where their learning happens. When homework is sent home, it does not get completed.
My Project
These items will be a huge help to our classroom. Currently, we do not have very much in terms of manipulatives. My students will use the manipulatives daily during our one-hour math time. The games and hands-on activities will be used during our "Fun Friday" math game day.
My class will benefit from these items because math will become more exciting!
Playing a game or using fun counters is much better than doing a boring worksheet! This will increase engagement.
