My Students

Small group support is often the one thing that helps students feel successful. My students need their own white boards, markers and erasers to make their time in small groups both efficient and effective, but also fun and engaging!

My students are dedicated and compassionate second, third and fourth graders.

They are all students with disabilities who are included in general education with their peers at our school located right in the center of a big city in Louisiana. They have each faced incredible adversity but all are diligent in their pursuit of bright futures. My students meet with me to work in small groups to either review what was covered in class or to work on extra skills.

My Project

As I review content or teach extra skills to my students, personal white boards, markers, and erasers for each student will increase their productivity by keeping us from having to shuffle papers all the time. They will also allow my students to show their work and easily make changes when small errors are made. Lastly, white boards and markers are fun for students and by using them in our small group times, students will be more engaged with the material that we cover.

The time that my students spend in small groups with me is absolutely essential to their success and ability to be included in their general education classrooms with their peers.

Supporting this project will make this time even more productive and engaging!
