This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 24 amazing students that want to learn about Earth day in our rural community. They want to learn how they can contribute to helping our environment. We will be going out to our pond and conducting water samples and need a kindle that can help us with science vocabulary.

I have 24 culturally diverse students that I greatly adore.

My students attend a Title 1 School where most receive free and reduced lunch, they come from various backgrounds, and although different, they all have the same desire- to be successful in life and complete their education. My students are comprised of duo working households, single parent homes, economically disadvantaged, and live in a RURAL community where poverty is all too common and as a result disparities are also too common. But even with these setbacks, my students come to school with a smile on their face, ready to learn, and love working on special projects, especially when it comes to saving the earth and HONORING EARTH DAY!

My Project

With new games about reducing, reusing, and recycling my students will learn about how they can contribute to helping the environment in their rural community, they will learn about how they can conserve energy and honor earth day, and most importantly they will learn with visuals and learn to think outside the box. They will be able to work in groups and share personal ideas on how they can help save our planet. With a Kindle we will be able to take a portable device to our pond and help us with science vocabulary that many of my students tend to struggle with. We will be able to use it to research and record our water project. We will be able to download books and apps that will instill the three R's-Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. UPS and Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation please help me teach my students the importance of Earth day!

As you can see, we have to function with numerous setbacks and this project would impact the lives of young learners and encourage them to learn about Earth Day and its significance.

Allow my students to have a learning experience that will encourage them to think outside the box, and engage them with visuals and a kindle so that we can have portable technology to allow us to learn without any limitations. My students love science, we want to be able to honor earth day in our rural community.
