We love Model Magic at Carnegie

My students need 12 classpacks of Model Magic in assorted colors.

Mrs. Bate Carnegie Elementary School
Chicago, IL Grades PreK-2

I am a K-8 art teacher and I have taught hundreds of different kinds of lessons to the 650 students here. One thing that has not changed over the years is the students' desire to create sculpture and make artwork out of clay. The school is not equipped with a kiln and since I have to teach art in a regular classroom, I found that Crayola Model Magic, a clean, safe, air-drying clay is a fantastic alternative. Unfortunately, there is never enough money available for me to order enough Model Magic for the entire school. For the past few years, I have written Donors Choose grants asking for some. Thanks to a handful of generous Donors who saw my proposals, my students' needs were fulfilled and they created some of the best artwork I have seen since I started teaching. Since every grade level has created projects that were so successful, I feel that it would be wise to ask for Model Magic Clay once again. One of the major benefits of having this material is that the students were to express themselves in an entirely new way and I have never seen them more enthusiastic about creating art. Clay is also a wonderful tool for building fine motor skills in the lower grade levels, and creating new fine-art and problem solving skills in the upper grades. My students and I would love to have the chance to work with this kind of clay again. Since past experience has been so successful, it could only be better this time, plus we will have the chance to explore new and different projects using Model Magic.
