Uniforms For All! Can You Help Us?

My students need 150 uniforms to complete their PE experience.

I am completing my second year as a physical education and health teacher in a high-needs community in Illinois. 100% of the students receive either free breakfast, free or reduced lunch and a snack for those involved in the "After School All-Stars" program. I teach Pre-school through the 8th grade.

These tough economic times have made it very difficult for students to be properly dressed for participation in my physical education class. Out of the 500 or so children, only 200 have uniforms! My students wear last year's hand me downs from their older brother or sister and about 50 have managed to purchase a uniform this year.

My students need 150 sets of uniforms. This includes a Navy blue T-shirt with our school logo and a plain navy blue pair of shorts. The students will benefit by having a PE uniform and not damaging their regular school uniform. They will be able to wear their colors proudly and be a part of the metamorphosis that is taking place at our school.

Your support of my equipment needs over the past year and a half have given my students a chance to experience cooperative and competitive games, intramural tennis, volleyball, and even pickleball. The "icing on the cake" would be for these children to experience the complete PE experience by having their own school uniforms. Your continue support of children in need has been appreciated over and over. I ask that you make it possible for each and everyone of these young people to proudly wear what you have so graciously given.
