Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As my students determine whether an electronic component is a conductor or an insulator, they discover that the flow of electrons is truly amazing. And, having the proper safety attire for this type of classroom/lab activity ensures best safety practices are being met.

My students are the most innovative 9th and 10th graders ever!

They do not have many resources, but they are creative in their approach to solving project problems in the classroom. They are from an urban-blighted area that has seen a downward spiral loss of manufacturing jobs over the last few decades. They attend a public high school that serves over 1500 students who are considered underrepresented in engineering and "high-tech" fields.

My Project

We are requesting lab coats for student use in the classroom/lab to ensure proper safety procedures are followed. We would like to establish a "real world" setting for students by providing the appropriate safety attire that's worn in the workplace. Our students would appreciate any effort made that allows them to simulate the workplace environment.

When our students attend the annual Career and Technology Fair, many of the schools participating have students dressed in the appropriate career or workplace attire.

Our students would like to do the same. They have worked very hard in the classroom/lab and deserve as much support as they can get in their career presentations.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
