The Great Musical Dilemma 4!

My students need an upright bass for orchestra!

My Students

I am being pushed out of my job! But in a good way! Our strings program has grown to the point that they are hiring a strings teacher!

We are a Title I school in inner city Connecticut.

90% of our student population receive free and reduced lunch. But we are a thriving music program. My band encompasses over 50% of the students in school and our chorus is also growing! Our young orchestra program has been growing, but I no longer have the time to teach all of the band and orchestra classes!

My Project

I am asking for an upright bass. This is a brave move. But I honestly believe that a balanced orchestra is the best way to teach students. I think that the students would really enjoy getting to see the bass in action and getting to hear the very low tone and sound of the bass. We have a few cellos in our group, but a bass would really help to round out the sound.

A lack of funding should not equal a lack of opportunity.

Please help me to help our students have the best musical experience possible. They work hard and they deserve the best!
