Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever been embarrassed because you were unable to complete the same activities as your peers? Unfortunately my students feel this way every day. Using the Samsung Galaxy Tablet in my classroom would give my students the opportunity to learn without being embarrassed of their own abilities.

I teach students with disabilities in grades 1st-5th and often times they are more than one year behind their peers in reading.

I often see my students embarrassed because they have to read picture books while their peers are reading chapter books. Although, there are simple chapter books, my students often need the pictures to help support their comprehension. The Samsung Galaxy will allow my students to read or listen to the books that will support their learning without feeling insecure. I want my students to have opportunities to learn in the classroom without wondering if their peers notice their disability. I also have frustrated readers, who have given up and the thought of reading makes them cringe. I think using the latest technology will reawaken their excitement for reading! I know when I have allowed students to use an educational app on my phone they are completely engaged and want to use it again and again! I can't wait for students to have technology they can use daily!

My Project

Can you imagine what the Samsung Galaxy can do to inspire my students to read or what it can do to boost their confidence? As I mentioned earlier, I truly believe using the Galaxy will help my students become better readers and boost their confidence in their own abilities. Another vital reason I want to use the Samsung Galaxy in my classroom is because it will give my students an opportunity to use technology they would otherwise not have the chance to. We all know how vital using technology is in today's world. I love that my students may be given the chance to grow and learn skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives! I can picture the excitement on their faces now!!

My goal is to inspire students become lifelong learners.

Reading is the first step in that journey; students need to read in order to successful in other areas of their lives. It is my job to create inspired students who genuinely love to read. I want my students to use the Galaxy to work at their own level and improve their reading abilities. I know their confidence will be boosted when they are able to work without anyone noticing the application they are using!
