Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your first "big" accomplishment? Do you remember who encouraged you to shoot for the stars? Have you ever literally shot for the stars? With your help, my students can take that shot.

The students from our school are urban students who do not have many positive role models encouraging them to go above and beyond.

The students do not believe that they can become something great, and accomplish a goal above the clouds. The goal is to show the students that they can create an object that can fly to the stars.

My Project

The resource that will take the student's to the stars are basic model rockets. The rockets will be designed, built and launched by the students (with adult supervision). In this manner, the students will have a concrete example of how their hard work can take them to the stars.

Urban students do not have a concrete example that demonstrates they can achieve more than good.

They are not shown that they can become great. The plan is that through the construction of a model rocket, these students have something they can hold to show others that they can become something more.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
