This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Did you remember learning how to read? Listening to others read is a great way for students to hear fluent and expressive reading. My students are at the beginning of their adventure with reading and TAG readers will enhance their journey!

My 33 bright eyed first graders are eager to learn everything about the world around them.

They love to interact with each other, technology, and their community to soak in information. Our Title 1 school is in an urban area and we are the only first grade class. With so many interested readers in one classroom, my students need access to all types of books and reading materials that will differentiate their learning.

My Project

I am requesting TAG readers and books which will allow my students to interactively read and listen to a book independently. My students will be able to use the headphones and pens to touch the page when they need a word read to them. This will allow my students to reach more vocabulary on their own and build their confidence in reading. The use of the TAG readers will also be a fun and exciting way to read, which is how everyone should feel about reading!

The use of the TAG readers in my first grade classroom will allow my students to work on their reading skills independently with support in an engaging format.

My students don't have access to technology like the TAG reader and this will be a great way to expose them to a variety of favorite and interesting stories. Overall, the use of this interactive technology will help my students learn that reading is an exciting adventure!
