This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a neighborhood school in a tight-knit, family oriented community where many of them walk to and from school with their families each day.

We are a Title I school. Every child in our school receives free breakfast and lunch every day. They may face obstacles outside the classroom, but they do not let this deter them from learning and working together as a team. Our class motto is "Keep moving forward."

My Project

The magnetic and motion kits that are a part of the Lakeshore STEM bundle will be used during our Science units on those subjects, but will also be available throughout the year for students to explore during days when weather keeps us inside during our recess time. The Fairy Tale STEM kit will allow us to integrate our Science and Reading together for a more powerful use of our time. The Life Cycle and Space readers will be used during our small groups Guided Reading time. This allows for cross curricular learning where we will be not only learning how to read but also learning and reinforcing important Science concepts.

These materials will allow for Science and Math concepts to be taught and reinforced throughout the year and throughout the day.

They also allow for hands on fun which students won't soon forget!
