My Students

We have not even dreamed of the challenges students will face in the 21st century. Today's students need tools to use the technology which is currently available to gain language skills in Spanish. Can you help bring the tools which could make a huge difference in a child's life?

The kids in my class are come from a variety of homes and means.

Many live in the rural areas around the valley and struggle because they don't have school supplies let alone extras. Many are very excited to learn, but don't always have the advantage of having a parent available to assist with homework. Some were born other countries. They attend a very nice new school, unfortunately it is not equipped with all the tools needed to help students take advantage of resources with would enrich their learning, helping them prepare for the 21st century.

My Project

Headsets with mics may seem like an insignificant item, but in the hands of students at my school, they are a window into the world of a second language. Our school has the opportunity to introduce elementary age students to Spanish, but without the headsets, the resources is useless. With the headsets students can enter the lab, sign in and work independently with the software to not only understand Spanish, but to also pronounce Spanish words correctly.

This project is so important because workers of tomorrow will need two languages to compete in a world economy.

Research shows elementary age students can pick up language quicker then older students. We need to start as soon as possible to provide the simple tools so our kids are prepared for the future.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
