This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The important thing is not to stop questioning." - Albert Einstein My students are an inquisitive and curious group of children who apply this quote every day!

I have a culturally and economically diverse group of students, but the commonalities they all share and what I am most proud of is their great hearts and passion for learning.

They treat each other with respect, are sensitive to each others' differences, and appreciate each others' individuality. My students are also inquisitive and so curious about their world. They are information seekers; They ponder over books to find the answers to their questions. Often their answered questions lead to even more questioning and they love to share their findings with others. They are my inspiration! :)

My Project

The resource that I am requesting is a Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Students can easily use the tablet to research topics we are studying in class such as weather patterns (with quick access to check the daily temperature and weather conditions of a certain area) and the solar system (with 3-D and interactive visuals of planets). Applications will be downloaded that will allow struggling students to get additional support in reading and math. The apps will give my gifted learners the opportunity to apply depth to their learning by giving them access to above grade level content and interest-based learning experiences. Students will use the tablet to present information they have gathered about a topic to share with their peers. The tablet will be utilized as a learning center to allow students access all throughout the day. The educational uses with a tablet are endless and it is a tool that my students will thoroughly use to enhance their learning!

My hope is that the Galaxy Samsung Tablet will provide valuable access to information and interactive learning to meet the needs of all of my students.

The tablet will be another teaching tool used to promote student inquiry and learning! :)
