My students need a science learning center which helps them to retain science concepts in simple terms. I have special needs children who love to learn.
My students are special needs children who are very interest in science and love to explore things. Some of my students are very inquisitive and want to learn. Having a science center that re-enforces the science concepts helps them to retain. Most of my kids have learning challenges.
I work in ESE Multi setting in other words low cogitative abilities.
They have a variety of disability ranging from Autism to Downs Syndrome. They can learn with the right supports in place. It helps them to retain information through various supports such as manipulative hands on hands material presented in a various ways along with technology. I have seen the growth and they have come a long way from not being able to read to reading. I am so proud of what they have accomplished and want to see them go further than what is expected of them. With your generous support I know they go to higher level of learning.
My Project
Having the right resources and manipulative available makes a world of difference. Special need s Children does not always grasp concepts easily. It is hard for them to take an abstract concept into a literal form. When the right material is in place and presented in such a way they will retain it. This Science Learning center is perfect in that it present concepts in simple form which makes it a game. The Students loves to play games and interact through technology. This science learning centers will help the students learn to categorize and process data in simple form re-enforcing science concepts.

In other words parents with low incomes and does not have the means to support the school financially. With the way the economy has affected most of schools budgets there are no longer the funds to support classroom supplies. Teachers are left buying the supplies out of pocket or raise funds.
