My students need nonfiction reading books, Common Core reading games, non-fiction science cards, and the book "Bullying in Schools" to learn in a Bully Free classroom.

My Students

"A Bully Free Classroom? Can I be in one of those please?" Have you ever heard this from a student? We all know that students should feel comfortable to express their opinions in a safe environment. I want to provide students with a classroom that prevents bullying so they can learn, learn, learn!

My students are fourth graders in a high poverty elementary school.

I have 26 students in my classroom with a wide range of abilities, needs, and concerns. Even though my students may deal with struggles at home, they come to school every day ready and willing to be part of our family and learn what they can. They strive to be "The Best They Can Be" each and every day!

My Project

With the Common Core Standards being incorporated into our curriculum, our current reading and science programs need some help! By providing my students with nonfiction reading books, reading games to enhance their skills, nonfiction science comprehension cards, and the book "Bullying in Schools", my students will be able to better understand real-world concepts. My students are always interested in reading nonfiction materials but have a hard time finding books that spark their interests. Now that problem will be solved! They will be able to spark their interests in reading and science with engaging reading games and science materials through hands-on activities, all while learning how to work together in a Bully Free classroom!
