My students need a tablet to individualize their instruction while integrating and keeping up with technology.

My Students

My students face communication challenges every day. I want my students to become familiar with technology and use it as a tool or a support for communicating with others. This would allow them to be in an active role rather than a passive roll.

My students are 7th and 8th graders in a Functional Curriculum at the Middle School.

We work a lot on daily living skills (money, time) and social skills. We are active in the community and participate in Special Olympics. They are a great bunch of kiddos and surprise me every day!

My Project

I am requesting a Samsung Galaxy Tablet for my classroom. Using technology in the classroom will motivate my students to actively make decisions for themselves and increase their curiosity of researching and learning. The students would get direct feedback on how they did without teacher support, giving them a sense of accomplishment and independence. It would also benefit my students who are not always able to access a computer due to physical limitations. It would also benefit me as the teacher because I would be able to integrate technology into my classroom and plan my lessons to meet each of the student's individual needs.

Having this technology in my classroom would benefit my students in so many ways.

Everything is online today and being able to access what they need is extremely important for them. School does not last forever and my students need to be prepared for the community in which they live and their futures. Technology is forever changing and so are our students.
