My students need supplies for experiments (soil, clay, crayons and paint), literature related to Rocks/Minerals/Fossils, and samples of soils, rocks and fossils.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Science conjures images of students full of wind-eyed wonder and minds exploding with curiosity and the famous question, "Why?" Help my students investigate the sensational world of rocks, minerals, and fossils via hands-on investigations that is sure to engage and captivate them!
My students thoroughly enjoy math and science and the experiments and hands-on tasks that come with those subjects.
Like their peers, my students are inquisitive and have the potential to reach for the stars, become the next president, and discover new cures and medicines to treat modern-day illnesses.
As an inner-city school, 100% of our student population is comprised of minority students, with 99% receiving free school lunch. The remaining 1% receive reduced rates.
Despite the odds and security issues from the surrounding areas, we strive to provide our students with the resources they need to succeed and compete with their more affluent counterparts.
My Project
Crayon rocks, eggshell geodes, fossil casts, experimenting to see which soil has higher absorption rates, and access to sample fossils and minerals is what your donation is funding.
All the materials listed are used to conduct experiments and projects that will enable my students to learn via discovery how different types of rocks/fossils/minerals are formed, how various soils have differing attributes, and how we can test rocks and minerals.
Instead of textbooks, my students will maintain high levels of engagement and excitement in their day-to-day learning in this unit.
Students in the United States lag behind in almost all subject areas and greatly struggle in the areas of math and science.
Confined to musty textbooks and a lack of resources, inner-student youth are rarely drawn to the fields of math and science
Your donation will help fund the experiments and projects that I have planned for my students, projects that will enrich their learning. ...projects that will excite and inspire them to learn more and to ask questions. Why? How? What if?
