Read All About It!

My students need 200+ leveled reading books and book bins to help them become successful readers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

To be a life long reader, students need access to books on their own reading level. Children need a chance to become excited about books and have a variety to choose from. My students need a varied reading library.

I teach an energetic group of Kindergartners in a charter school in inner city New York.

The school is uniquely designed to meet the needs of at-risk students who are currently in the foster care and child welfare system. The goal of the school is to create a school that takes into account the impact of abuse and neglect on a child's readiness to learn. At the same time, features of this learning environment are supportive and attractive to families with no child welfare involvement.

My Project

Having books that students can read on their own, is so exciting for children. It builds their confidence and encourages them to keep reading. This library consists of books on a variety of levels for students to grow with throughout the year. The standards for Kindergarten have risen and this library will help my students reach and exceed these standards.

This library will help excite young readers.

It will help them become life long learners and encourage my students to read fiction and non-fiction books. These books will be used for years to come.
