Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine that you are a student that has trouble focusing and sitting still. Imagine that you have suffered a traumatic event in your life and there are days when you come to school very angry and upset and struggle to calm down. These are the daily realities of some of my students.

My students are "at risk" Special Education students that attend school in an urban school setting.

They are inclusion students in the regular education classroom in grades K-5. Many of my students struggle with ADHD, ODD, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)and other mental health diagnoses as well as learning and communication disabilities.

My Project

If I receive the resources and tools for my project, it will improve the learning environment for my students who struggle with success in the classroom. The tension balls, therabands, body sox, wiggle seats and other like supplies will provide my students the ability to focus, move around and release some stress without disrupting the rest of the class. The resources will provide me with more knowledge and strategies to help provide a learning environment where my students will feel successful. The yacker tracker will be helpful to keep the classroom accountable for their level of noise and disruptive behaviors and help keep them on track academically. The whisper phones will be helpful for those students struggling with reading and writing in an environment that is not always a quiet one. The velcro dots are necessary when making visual charts such as behavior and schedule boards with boardmaker for those students who need visuals to keep them on task.

Please donate and provide my students with the tools necessary to help them cope and be successful in the classroom.
