My Students

If you only had 40 minutes of art class once a week, would you want to waste that precious time waiting for the one overworked, aged pencil sharpener we have to cool down so that you could sharpen your pencil? Yeah, my students don't like it either!

My students art 800 kids from grades K-6.

They are spunky and funny and I love the relationships I have built with them. If I could, I would buy everything they want for the art room, but it just isn't possible. They don't ask for much- they love color sheets, free draw paper, and working supplies. They want markers that are still juicy and pencils that actually write. We are blessed to have enough juicy markers right now, but we are needing some help with pencils that are sharp!

My Project

I am requesting 6 electric pencil sharpeners. With 800 kids, we can burn through pencil sharpeners pretty quickly if we aren't careful. Ideally I like to have 2 sharpeners available for kids to use to help spread the workload, and then I would like to have 4 in reserve to replace as needed throughout the year.

Pencil sharpeners are not glamorous or exciting but they are indeed crucial for any subject in school, but definitely a necessity in an art room for kids to be able to draw!

Please help us fund these sharpeners so that my students will always have sharp pencils!
