This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine having nothing. This is a major problem my school is facing. This year I was not provided with any workbooks to give my students, and to make matters even worse my school is currently facing a paper lockout. This lockout means my school does not have the money to afford paper.

My students are devoted and dedicated children who are given very little in regard to their education.

They come to school everyday with a passion to learn. Their parents give what they can, however, I work in a district that is millions of dollars short of what we should be receiving for education.

My Project

Because my students do not have workbooks, paper, and only have 2 working computers to use, my students have to copy everything from the board. This is time consuming and boring. The MacBook will provide the students with thousands of educational apps that will give them a break from the rigorous task of copying notes and provide differentiation for students who need the extra support. Having 30 students makes is difficult to provide the support every students needs in my class. I have 4 English Language Learners, 3 Special Education students, and many other students who would really benefit from a hands on learning experience rather than just note taking. The MacBook provides fun educational support for students of all abilities. In my district, we have quarterly Online Assessments. The MacBook apps will allow my students to strengthen the skills they are required to master to pass the online assessments.

A MacBook will provide my students with an interactive and differentiated educational experience that due to lack of resources is hard at time for me to provide.
