My Students

Our district is a low-income district in the middle of Missouri. New technology is not readily available in the classrooms or in their homes.

We are a district of about 400 students 9-12th grade.

The students work hard to increase their education levels and technology is a key component of preparing these students for the future. The students at our school catch on quickly to new technology, but if they have never held the new form in their hands, it can be intimidating.

My Project

The wireless tablet is a new form of computer that our students have not been exposed to in the classroom. I would like to have one for the classroom, so that students can use it and learn how it works to prepare them for their immediate future. The students will be able to see how mathematics can be brought to life with graphs, charts, tables, and videos found on the tablet through the world wide web. They can also use the hard ward to create their own displays of data.

Not all of our students are college bound so we need to prepare all students for the workforce.

The wireless technology of the tablet is used throughout our world, and students in the classroom need exposure to it to be a viable person in the everyday workforce of America.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
