Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Rejuvenate our school library! We need new hardcover books to bring our library back to life.

My students attend one of the oldest schools in the area.

Our school was built in the late 1800s. It sits in one of the poorest cities in the county, and as a result is small, and underfunded. Our students deserve to have access to books on a variety of topics that aren't torn or falling apart.

My Project

New books in our small library will help to rejuvenate it, and bring back interest in checking out books. Many students come in wanting to check out books that their teacher shared with them in class. Many times our library does not have the book, or if we do the pages are ripped or the binding is old and falling apart. Providing the students with new books will promote a love of literacy and stimulate interest in attending our library.

It is so important for my students to have access to current stories that help to foster a love of literacy.

There is nothing like curling up with a good book, and I want my students to experience the sheer joy of reading. Will you help to get new books into our library?
