My Students

Have you ever enjoyed learning something by putting the information to music? My students have not yet learned to read or write but Dr. Jean has put many reading readiness skills to music.

My students come from a small rural Wisconsin area.

Many of the area towns are incorporated into the one school district. The children often ride a bus for 30 minutes just to get to school. The classroom is all inclusive so we have a wide range of skills.

My Project

The Dr. Jean books and tapes will allow me to incorporate music, and learning with music into my curriculum. By listening to the music, singing along with the music, and reading along with the cd my students will be learning some of the most basic skills I teach in kindergarten.

Many children learn best when they can get up and move.

I was once told that if a child can eat it, or sing it they can learn it. I am a firm believer of that. By using these Dr. Jean stories and cd's the children will be able to put movement into learning each day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
