This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Music heals the soul. No matter what background or personal experiences you have gone through, music has a way of healing that. Will you make having an iPod possible for our class? Music is an artistic form that truly challenges students to learn expressively.

Have you ever seen a student pull out an iPod before?

It's about time we have one in the classroom! Right now, we don't have a listening center and music comes from my old stereo. We are an Arts school and an iPod is essential to our musical experiences and learning.

My Project

An iPod will allow students to stay current with technology and give the privacy to listen to individual pieces of music, or contribute to the class' whole learning of a musical piece. Students will be able to recognize and describe examples of musical forms, including rondo, from listening to a piece of music. They will even get to use specific criteria to judge the relative quality of musical performances.

"Move" a student by letting a student move to music, evaluate musical pieces, and develop an appreciation for music, as an art form.

Fourth graders will get to access technology and learn how music impacts their own lives, as well as those around them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
