Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the first time you accessed a computer? Wasn't it amazing? Imagine being 5 years old and your teacher is able to use the computer to give you a visual on a math lesson. Wouldn't that be great? It would especially if you had little or no access to a computer at home.

My students are a group of amazing 4 and 5 year olds.

Unfortunately, they attend school in an impoverished area. Many of our students are enrolled in both the morning and afternoon program because their parents have to work long hours to be able to support their families. They are so excited to come to school at this age. I always try to find ways make a our classroom so inviting and magical so when they walk in they feel happy and welcomed.

My Project

I could just see their eyes bulging with surprise. Our magic machine will be able to access the CD's provided by our language arts curriculum and math. Our class will be able to use the interactive games provided with our programs. I will also be able to model how to access games on our two working computers using an overhead projector.

Bringing technology to our classroom will make it more unforgettable and enjoyable, especially when my students have little or no access to a computer at home.

Please help me bring the wow factor into our learning. Visuals go a long way, especially when you are 4 and 5 years old.
