Magic Carpet Needed for a Comfortable Classroom!

My students need 1 large area rug to sit on for morning message, story time, and whole group lessons. The tile is too hard and too cold for the little ones to sit on!

My Students

Help our bottoms! Our Early Childhood Class spends much of the day on the floor during Morning Message, Story Time, and Whole Group discussions. Imagine spending your day on a cold, tile floor. A large classroom rug is just what they need to feel a a bit more comfortable in the classroom!

My Pre-k students are very energetic, enthusiastic, and constantly exploring the world around them.

It is very exciting to teach students who are always eager to learn knew things. Unfortunately, many of my students come from poverty stricken homes located in rough neighborhoods. My students are 100 percent African American and our school is located in the inner city. For some of them, school may be the only place they feel safe and secure. That is why I want them to be comfortable and welcomed in my classroom.

My Project

Many of my students' families do not have stable homes or a stable family life. Therefore, the classroom should always be a welcoming, friendly, and loving atmosphere for them to come. A large area rug in our classroom will help contribute to the warm and cozy aspect that I wish to have for my students. They spend much of their day on the floor listening to the teacher, listening to a story, and sharing thoughts and ideas. Therefore, I feel like they should have a comfortable place to sit. Thank you.

An area rug is a much needed aspect of any early childhood classroom.

It is a place for meeting, greeting, laughing, sharing, and learning. Additionally, the area rug designates a specific space for where most of the learning is to take place. Your donations to this project will not only benefit the students this year, but will continue to comfort students in all of the years to follow. Thank you for your loving support.
