Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"College begins in pre-school" is a quote that more people are finding to be true. I would like children to learn independence as well as vocabulary, letters and sounds through center activities.

My students attend a small public school with grades pre-k through fifth.

They have many skills yet many academic challenges as well as economic. Some have been identified as special needs but have awesome potential. Our program is a language based program that works on developing the whole child and prepare them for Kindergarten. They are eager to learn and to be challenged.

My Project

Through the purchase of these activity centers, I can have activities that will enhance their learning of the alphabet as well as the letter sounds. These centers also help my children that are English Language Learners through the use of pictures and sounds. I like to work with students one on one as well as in small groups on specific skills that they may need extra help with or skills to further enhance their learning. Literacy activities that they can do independently will allow me the time to work with the other students. It will also help them with their learning, especially reading.

These activity centers promote literacy for all of my students, no matter what level they are currently working.

They allow opportunities that might be more difficult to achieve if they don't have meaningful activities. They can also promote cooperation as they sort and discuss the pictures that can enhance vocabulary especially for my English Learners. I really appreciate the time I have to work with children individually to increase their academic potential.
