My students need In Tune Monthly magazine to read in the classroom in order to increase literacy and cultural knowledge.

My Students

My students need to improve their literacy. What better way to do so than by reading about their favorite artists and the behind-the-scenes music business in order to make a needed skill more fun? My students will be learning without even knowing it.

The majority of my students come from neighborhoods with low incomes and a desire to better themselves.

Some of them hear gun fire every day or night in their respective neighborhoods. School is an oasis. These children test to get in to our school and will be the leaders of tomorrow, but only if they are given the help of our rigorous curriculum that informs them in many ways.

My Project

I want a monthly subscription to In Tune Monthly so that learning about music, both old and new, is fun. This magazine offers activities, lesson plans, literacy prompts, and allows them to feel as if they are not even working at learning. Learning without working at it. Wow!

Literacy, literacy, literacy.

Without it, students will not be able to navigate the modern world. We all read magazines. Reading is fun. The more you read, the more you learn. Help me bring that to the music classroom.
