Listening Leads To Learning

My students need 4 student CD players along with a portable CD player for large groups.

My Students

Many of my students do not have access to books let alone someone to read to them.

My school is a Title one school with a large population of Hispanic families.

Many of my students come from low income families who do not have access to books or they don't read to their children, because they either work to provide for their families or have a low education and can't read to their child.

My Project

I would love to provide my students with another opportunity to learn. With your donation, it will purchase four portable CD players. These portable CD players can be used by the students to listen to many books on CD. The students can use them in the classroom in their learning centers, during quiet time, or the parent can check it out for their child to be used at home. Having these CD players available for my parents to check out, will one extend the child's learning and two, connect the child and parent with the tradition of reading at home. Also there will be another CD player being purchased to be used with larger groups of children. I will be able to have 4-6 students listening to books on CD's, during the students' center time.

Your donation will make a big difference in the lives of my students, as well as my parents.

The impact of having access to books in the classroom, as well as at home will have my students "Listening to Learn" in either the class setting or at home.
