This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a vision to inspire the next Steven Spielberg or Ron Howard. But there is no much in the budget for video cameras.

My 197 students are diverse, creative and excited about learning - especially when it comes to new technology.

A few students in my campus have access to technology and could easily call themselves digital natives, but most are unfamiliar with the latest technology. Our school is an urban Title 1 school in Texas.

My Project

My students need 8 flip video recorders in order to create amazing projects for our History Film Festival. I would like to turn my classroom into a film-making workshop. In teams of 4 students will write a script, create a storyboard, assign acting roles, film and edit their works of art and finally present them to an audience at an evening film festival. The film shorts would be based on our state standards for US History so students would be learning historical facts while learning 21st century technology skills.

Help me make a lasting impact in my young creative genius' lives!

Teaching students the skills required to film and edit movies could serve them in high school, college and career.
