My Students

"I don't like to run," is what I hear from some of my students. Physical education is more that just running laps. It helps students build coordination, teamwork, and perseverance in completing a task.

My students are typical third graders.

They enjoy playing games - even in Science and Math. They attend a rather large elementary school that includes Title 1 students, those who qualify for free and reduced programs. We also have a very large English Learner population and several included Special Education students. It all makes for a very diversified population.

My Project

These additional materials will help to motivate and inspire our students to reach their potential in physical education. They will learn skills to improve their eye-hand coordination and teamwork. Through the use of games and fun, students will gain confidence in themselves and look forward to participating in PE.

By getting students off their chairs and moving we can increase their level self-confidence.

We see that when children increase their levels of physical activity they also increase their academics also improve. As they learn to lead healthier lifestyles they will have an increase in their self-esteems. Teaching students to become balanced individuals in both academics and fitness/health is our ultimate goal!
