Lens + Ink = UPS Helping Us Print Pictures Of Our Rural Area

My students need a lens for our camera and ink for our printer to print nice, high quality digital pictures.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am extremely excited about my classroom this year! I have 25 wonderful students. They love science and love working hands-on. They want to be able to capture the environment at their fingertips with a digital lens and want to participate in Disney's Planet Challenge without any limitations!

I teach 25 students with the limited resources available at our school, but at times not having technology makes it difficult to teach my students visually.

Ideas cannot be conveyed proficiently without letting them experience it for themselves. My students live in a rural community where most receive free and reduced lunch and attend our Title 1 school. Therefore, funds are extremely limited, but my students are so bright and have so much potential and always come to school with a smile on their faces! We need your help with a digital lens because without it, students simply cannot capture all the beauty in the world. My student population is extremely diverse and composed primarily of lower economically disadvantaged children where technology is almost nonexistent at home, and many of whom have never even heard of such technology. Help us be able to introduce technology and all of its benefits Disney Planet and UPS! We want to capture the beauty of our rural community.

My Project

By providing us a camera lens we will be able to break the class up into two groups and take great beautiful and high quality pictures of the environment. All students will finally be able to take turns. Through the use of a digital lens students can picture the beauty of the rural area they live in, they will be able to learn about technology, but also not have to worry about whether or not their pictures are clear. With a lens we will be able to research and discuss the benefits of adding a lens to a camera and we will be able to learn about the environment outdoors, students will be engaged and they will personally take pictures of different habitats near a pond at our school. The best part is they can insure that they take pictures that are much more clear and not blurred. With ink for our printer, students will take the pictures back to the classroom and print them, and also discuss their surroundings and use their pictures on their research projects and paste them into journals.

As you can see, we have to function with numerous setbacks and this project would impact the lives of young learners and encourage them to learn about environmental topics that will allow them to learn how to better care for the rural community.

Allow my students to have a learning experience outdoors and allow them to think outside the box and engage them in ways that paper simply cannot! We love environmental science. Disney Planet help my students learn more about it with digital technology!
