Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help my kindergarteners leap into first grade with a solid foundation in literacy and math!
My classroom is filled with 26 kindergarteners full of energy and eager to learn and prepare themselves for success in first grade.
Unfortunately, my students live in a small, high poverty community. For most of them our classroom is the only place they get exposure to reading materials and technology.
My Project
LeapFrog Tag and LeapFrog Reader will help to enhance reading literacy and math in my classroom. My struggling readers will benefit from these resources because they will have independent guided reading time that combines reading and writing with self-assessment. My advanced readers can be challenged with more difficult stories.
Developing a love for reading is essential at such a young age and more easily done through meaningful activities and literature that keeps them engaged and motivated to learn.
These resources will give my students the extra boost they need to develop and strengthen their literacy and math skills so that they are on or above grade level before they enter first grade.
