My Students

Hooking all our students on reading is our passion! Our students are needing many formats of text to help them become more efficient readers. E-readers will assist us with our reading instruction at our elementary school library media center.

We are an elementary school of students in PreK-Grade 5.

As the teacher librarian, my goal is to give choices to our students so they will become lifelong readers. We have urgent needs to add rigor and excellence to our reading instruction. Our students have diverse backgrounds and many are English Language learners. Using e-readers will assist us in comprehension, fluency, vocabulary and deeper understanding.

My Project

Using Nook Color digital book readers in our library will give another reading format for our elementary learners. E-books will give us another venue for reading instruction. I want all of our students to remember fondly how they became hooked on reading. Using an e-reader can add to their authentic reading experiences.
