Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are in need of exciting and "eye catching" materials to draw them into the wonderful world of reading.

My students are from a very low economic area, who struggle to learn basic skills.

My students have been through a difficult time after Hurricane Sandy, many lost everything they own and were displaced from their homes. They are in need of a stable, loving, fun and educational school day. This will help them learn and take their mind off of what they will return to after school.

My Project

The markers, headphones, tactile alphabet, magnetic letters, and sight word games that I am requesting will help my students learn to read. These literacy center materials will make learning fun but still educational. My students are still very young, and I want them to have the best experience possible to have a life long love of learning and reading.

My students are such loving, caring children that have seen so much damage these past few weeks.

I want them to have the best chance possible to become great readers, my requests will help make this possible.
