Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom needs another way of keeping our materials in order. We have very little storage and could use another storage cart. With this cart we can have our writing and reading materials in a neat and convenient place for the teacher and students to use during daily meeting times.

Our class is an early learning pre-k/k inclusion classroom.

My student's are 4 and 5 years old. Some have special needs. They are sweet and love to learn. We write almost daily now and read several times a day. The students love to write on the one small whiteboard that I have to use. With a new storage cart that has a whiteboard on it we will be able to have more space for us to write. The students attend a regular elementary school in a low income neighborhood. We have very few funds to use on materials and without help from donors we wouldn't have what we do have. As you know most teacher's use their own money to get what they need, but that can be a burden on us and our families.

My Project

With a new storage cart we can store all of our writing materials and store our books/big books that we use on a daily basis. Student's will be able to reach the whiteboard since the cart is more at a child level than our regular small whiteboard. My student's will learn better writing skills with all of the practice that they will be getting. They will write numbers, letters, and will fill in the blanks of simple sentences. They love to do all of these things.

My student's will become more confident in their own abilities to write by practicing independently and with their peers on their new whiteboard/storage cart.

They will be able to reach and use materials on their own. I can't wait to see them use their markers and write their letters and numbers as they beam with pride in what they can do.
